There is no single setting that is perfect for every curl.

As a general starting point:

• Fine, delicate or heat-sensitive curls: begin with lower heat and airflow.
• Medium-density curls: begin around the middle of the available range.
• Thicker or denser curls: you may prefer more heat or airflow during the early stages of drying.
• Pixie diffusing: lower airflow can help minimise curl movement.
• Hover diffusing: more airflow can be useful because the diffuser is not directly cupping the curls.

Start gently and adjust according to your hair and the result you want.

A few technique changes can make a significant difference.

Remove excess water gently with a microfiber towel or cotton T-shirt rather than rubbing your hair.

When pixie diffusing, place your curls into the diffuser and keep the tool relatively still for a short period before moving to another section. Continually moving the diffuser in circles or disturbing the curl clumps can increase frizz.

Diffon dryers contain safety systems that can shut the appliance down if it becomes too hot.

Restricted airflow is a common cause. Check that:

• the air intake is not covered by your hand;
• the dryer is not buried underneath your hair;
• the air intake and filter are clean;
• lint, dust and hair have not accumulated around the filter.

Allow the tool to cool before restarting it.

If the problem continues after cleaning and correct use, contact Customer Support.

Check that the air intake is completely clear and that you are holding the Diffon from its intended grip area rather than covering the air intake.

A blocked or restricted air intake can reduce cooling airflow and cause the appliance to become hotter or activate its automatic thermal protection.
